{"id":3902,"date":"2023-01-25T10:03:38","date_gmt":"2023-01-24T23:03:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/simerr.une.edu.au\/quicksmart\/?p=3902"},"modified":"2025-12-10T15:20:36","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T04:20:36","slug":"introducing-the-quicksmart-basic-skills-assessor-qbsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simerr.une.edu.au\/quicksmart\/2023\/01\/25\/introducing-the-quicksmart-basic-skills-assessor-qbsa\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing the QuickSmart Basic Skills Assessor (QBSA)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <em>QuickSmart\n<\/em>team are proud to announce the release of the new <strong><em>QuickSmart <\/em>Basic\nSkills Assessor (QBSA) <\/strong>application for both Numeracy and Literacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>QBSA is offered\nas an alternative tool for the assessment component of <em>QuickSmart <\/em>lessons\nin 2023 and will then fully replace the currently used OZCAAS application in\n2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools with an\nactive licence will be able to access QBSA directly from their <em>QuickSmart<\/em>\nPortal accounts by the end of January 2023, which means that assessments can be\nrun on any device with the recommended Chrome web browser (Windows, Mac, iPads,\netc). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>QBSA will also be\nadded as a two-month trial to schools whose licence expired at the end of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>QBSA works in a similar way to OZCAAS, and trained instructors will find the transition a smooth one. However, there is a full user-guide for the new application located in the \u201cUser Guides\u201d section of the Portal, as well as soon-to-be-released demonstration videos, which we strongly recommend all instructors read and view<a href=\"https:\/\/qso.une.edu.au\/assets\/media\/instruction\/qbsa-numeracy-program-user-guide-2022.pdf\">.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>QBSA was trialled\nby over 30 schools in the latter half of 2022 and was received very positively.\nHowever, if you experience any bugs with the application, or have any feedback,\nplease let our IT Team know via <a href=\"mailto:quicksmarthelp@une.edu.au\">quicksmarthelp@une.edu.au<\/a> \/ 02 6773 5061. More features will be added to QBSA, so please\nalso email the IT Team with any \u201cwish list\u201d items and they could be added to\nthe application on a future date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope you enjoy\nusing the <em>QuickSmart <\/em>Basic Skills Assessor.
