Social Program
The cost, for participants, of all social program activities is included in the registration fee.
Accompanying persons (partners and friends) are most welcome to attend any or all of the social program activities. Please contact the UNE Conference Company for prices and booking arrangements for accompanying persons. Please note that bookings for accompanying persons must be made prior to the start of the symposium.

Welcome Barbeque at New England Regional Art Museum
6.30 pm - Participants will be taken to the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) for a Barbeque. NERAM is a focal point for cultural life in the New England region and home to more than 5,000 works of art.

Symposium Dinner
7.00pm - The Symposium Dinner will be held at Booloominbah with pre-dinner drinks at 7.00 pm and meal at 7.30pm.

Tours to Local Attractions
3.00 pm - There will be a choice of two tours available for participants with a maximum of 50 participants per tour. Choice of tour will be made on the first day of the Symposium. The tour choices are:
1. Saumarez Historic Building
- Take a guided tour through Saumarez Homestead, including the White family's 30 room Edwardian mansion complete with original furnishings. Stroll through Mary White's garden, with its Edna Walling style cottage garden, the picking garden and the lawns. Visit outbuildings complete with 19 th century tools and equipment.
2.McCrossin's Mill
- McCrossin's Mill Museum is one of the Uralla's main attractions, and is located in a beautifully restored three-storey flour mill built of brick and granite in 1870 by Samuel McCrossin who opened the town's first inn around 1850. The ground floor and the gardens are available for functions, while the upper two floors house exhibitions focused on Uralla's local history.
5.30 pm - Petersons Winery - Wine Tasting
After the excursion and before dinner all participants will be taken to Petersons Winery for wine tasting.
Petersons Wines Armidale is located in the South East of Armidale in New England, on a rich, red brown basalt hill facing to the north east, and is planted with Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir. The first harvest was in 2002.
Friday Evening
There will be a choice of two restaurants for the evening meal. Choice of restaurant will be made on the first day of the symposium.

In one of the oldest restaurant locations in Armidale, upstairs on the corner of Jessie and Beardy streets, Red Grapevine was established in 2004 and has brought to New England a rustic yet contemporary restaurant & bar.
