The Full Stack Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining web and mobile applications, ensuring they effectively meet the needs of SiMERR stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain dynamic Web & App based applications ensuring currency of knowledge with languages software and frameworks used. The primary languages used include PHP, Flutter, Javascript, HTML, CSS and MySQL.
- Work in an agile environment using version control, test first development, issue tracking and wiki’s to collaborate with other team members.
- Develop web and mobile applications using secure coding techniques and maintain knowledge of new threats.
- Develop and optimize database schemas, procedures, views and triggers.
- Responsible for ensuring project tasks are executed and that deliverables meet agreed expectations for quality, timeliness, cost-efficiency and effectiveness. Proactively identify, monitor and communicate risks and issues, and provide timely reporting and recommendations to the IT Manager.
- Participate in the analysis of customer requirements and the provision of appropriate technical solutions. Apply specialist technical expertise to review proposed solutions, including fit with business needs, and be responsible for software development, documentation, testing, acceptance, design, implementation and ongoing support.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with other members of the SiMERR IT Team, and with all applicable internal and external customers. Proactively engage with them to fully understand their goals and needs.
- Assist with training and mentoring for SiMERR IT projects in order to support both technical and non-technical staff in SiMERR.
- Ensure knowledge of the Rules, Policies and Procedures of the University (available on the University website) is maintained and abide by them as they are amended, varied or replaced from time to time.
